The Open Forum.
The Chairman, Darren, began the evening by bringing us up to date on events behind the scenes that were of interest to members. He reassured us that the kitchen and dining room will be well managed over the busy Christmas period.
He announced that the Christmas eve function had been changed and their would now be a two course meal prior to the entertainment. Cost, menu and price, will be placed on the notice board in due course and the usual procedure of booking and paying behind the bar will be needed.
Darren also asked for volunteers for the committee and members to offer help with certain functions.
Just to remind you, Thursday lunch is again this week, carvery. Michael our resident cook, reports that Andrea, Michael’s kitchen partner, is not at all well at the moment and going through a very hard time. New members may not have met or know Andrea. She worked in the kitchen with Michael until she fell ill and was diagnosed with Cancer. She has had Chemo and is now waiting for her operation. We all wish her well and hope it will not be too long before she returns to the club. Our secretary has her address and a Christmas card from those who know her might be appreciated when the time comes.
