On the weekend of the 19/20th January 2019 an International Billiards Tournament – the 24th Annual Friendly Cup – was held at the Club.
There was great activity in the Snooker Room and Bars throughout the weekend as the tension mounted. At half time England’s Darren “Dazza” Kell led the way with an immaculate personal best break of 237 unfinished. Kell added another ton break on day two to be unbeaten throughout, along with England’s Captain Rob Hall and Mark Hatton.
England took the Sunday session 28-4 to retain the trophy in style with a final score of 50-14. The EABA thanked the Club for the good playing conditions and the excellent hospitality extended.
