Dear Members

I am very pleased to inform you that this month we have 3 new Members. Andrew Ellwood, Martin Kyne and Clive Godney – you are all most welcome. Please introduce yourself to me or any Committee member, and should you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask.

Also welcome back to Richard Everest, Elaine Dickinson, Sally Elson and Linda Mannering. You have all been missed.

That makes 23 new Members this year so far and, if you are one of them, I am eager to hear from you if you have any ideas about what we can do to enhance what we offer to Members in terms of entertainment, food, drink or in the Snooker Room. Please email me on the email address at the bottom of this newsletter. I can’t promise to action all of your ideas but I can promise that they will each be considered by the Committee.

Our condolences go to the family and friends of Mrs Madeleine J Brook of Balderton and Mr Val Swain.

Committee business

Tony, our Secretary, is asking members not to forget to notify us if any of their details change eg home address or email address. This will enable us to communicate effectively and not waste valuable resources sending communications to the wrong place. Whilst on the subject – if you currently have your newsletter hand delivered or posted and you have an email address please let us know. It is so much more efficient for us to use email. Thank you

Past Events

Saturday 21st May was Race Night. It was well attended and enjoyed by many. Thanks to Miles for the food and also to those who organised the event – Miles, Andrea and Ian.

On Sunday the 22nd May we had a visit from the Lincoln and District Billiards and Snooker Association who held the John Stobie Challenge Tournament here at the Club. They all enjoyed playing on our excellent tables – all cleaned by Mark and Darren at the crack of dawn! and then enjoyed Sunday lunch.

Many thanks to Mark, Darren, Miles and Andrea for ensuring that the day was a success for our visitors.
